Screening

Designing effective retirement plan investment options involves much more than simply selecting a handful of top-rated funds. There are many factors that must be considered for a plan to have a set of well-diversified investments that are suitable for plan participants. Our screening process evaluates:

  1. Suitability - Depending on the asset class, a minimum InterScore® ranking is determined and is used to narrow the options down to only the best scoring funds in the asset class.
  2. Tradability – A set of filters reduces the list of investments down to those investments that can be used for the specified recommendation.

After determining suitability and tradability, the list of potential options is narrowed down further to five or fewer funds. Each fund is then analyzed in greater detail using qualitative measures, including interviews with the fund companies.
