InterScore
InterScore® is InterServ’s proprietary process for analyzing retirement plan investment options and identifying fund managers who have a history of adding value through their management processes. InterScore measures performance and employs proprietary benchmarking that evaluates the amount of risk an investment manager is taking to achieve investment returns, as well as the stability and cost efficiency of the fund fees.
Financial intermediaries can use InterScore as part of a certified investment selection process for both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans. The InterScore process, which utilizes multiple metrics based upon Modern Portfolio Theory, is available for use in both Core Investment Advisory Service and Discretionary Investment Management Service, and available for use in AdvisorPro.
InterScore analyzes each investment option and ranks them in each asset class using the following criteria:
Basic – Five basic scoring criteria
- Cost efficiency
- Competitiveness
- Manager efficiency
- Tracking to mandate
- Riskiness
Bonus – Scoring for possible bonus points
- Outperformance of peer funds
- Risk management
Penalty – Scoring for possible penalty points
- Length of manager tenure
- Closet index screen
InterScore can provide an independent analysis of the selected funds. Along with the analysis, we also provide reporting that is detailed but designed to be understood by both sophisticated analysts and novice investors. Our quarterly InterScore Fund Books score your funds with fact sheets and our Report Card, detailing our analysis of the funds.
